Hagatna (ha-got-nya):
Hagatna (formerly known as Agana), is located in the central part of the island and is the capital of Guam. Agana is the commercial center of Guam, home to various businesses, banks, and government offices, including Bank of Hawaii, Bank of Guam, BankPacific, ANZ, the Guam Legislature, the Agana Shopping Center (one of Guam’s three major shopping centers), the Guam Public Library, the Guam Superior and District Courts, Government House (home of the Governor), Chamorro Village (home to local/cultural vendors and products), Paradise Fitness Center, and Shirley’s Restaurant (a local favorite). The population of Hagatna is approximately 1,000.
